Sabbath circular walk Danebury hill fort.
The fort was actively used from 1st century BC to the 1st century AD. Oval in layout it was originally built to defend the high ground overlooking the plains below. There have been limited excavations most notably by James Berry in 1924 which showed Iron Age and Romano-British pottery.
