First I want to share the precious relationship between Jesus the Son and God the Father in these three times Jesus spoke about it.
Jesus speaking: ‘ My meat is to do the will of Him who sent me.’
John 4:34
Jesus uses hunger as a metaphor for spiritual obedience. He sees that as food gives energy to the body, so God’s purpose of bringing salvation to humanity satisfies Jesus soul.
Then this is said by Jesus:
‘ All the people the Father gives me will come to me, and those who come to me I will not turn away.’
John 6:37
Here Jesus sees God His Father working for us.
Jesus then continues: ‘ I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent me.’
John 6 :38
Jesus tried so hard to help the people see He was God’s Son. The best way for us to know He is, is to ‘taste’ by inviting Him into our life and then experiencing our own lives change.
An interesting change.
There is change in the garden now, we can only carry water by hand. The plants need water and we need to think which need the most. My logic might be wrong but I cut some of them. An example is the lambs ear flowers going to seed and the yarrow. These plants don’t need a lot of water so I won’t water them but I have reduced there size. I also enjoyed putting them into containers. The first I wanted to find out more about now that we can use ‘AI’.

The lambs ear is in a French Art Deco drip – glaze ‘cruche.’ I particularly like the ear- shaped handle and its fat bottomed shape. This is Poterie Provençale Vallauris. Vallauris is a famous pottery producing region in Southeastern France. The jug is classic grès stoneware bought at a Sunday market along the Seine when travelling through France. I was pleased to work with it. The colours so satisfyingly integrated.

There were so many stems of lambs ear that I sorted them into lengths and shapes of stem and used elastic bands to put groups of five together before putting them in their containers.
I also enjoyed bringing in the moon shine/ cloth of gold/ corronation yarrow. The plants had already started producing new leaves from their centers and their energy can now go to supporting this growth. The arrangement turned out to be very big. I placed it in a container I have used many times.

Here is a before and after photograph of the raised bed with yarrow spilling over and then reduced.
Before…

After…

Fortunately the bees have taken over the newly opened cardoon heads. They were so heavily covered in pollen that I could be a few inches from them.

A pollen covered bee…

and very busy ants.
I am so glad we watered and weeded when we returned. We will do our best now to keep things alive.
Virginia Woolf said something like this:
‘ The beauty of the world which is so soon to perish, has two edges, one of laughter, and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.’
But let us remind ourselves with Jesus speaking: ‘ Everyone who sees the Son, and believes on Him, may have everlasting life, and I, Jesus will raise that person at the last day.’
John 6:40.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
