Axminister

All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for doctrine,  for reproof, for correction, for instruction in right doing.

2 Timothy 3:16

The town of Axminster is built on a hill overlooking the river Axe, which heads towards the English Channel at Axmouth, and is in East Devon. It is a market town.

On RoadsWe Travel, welcome to a short  excursion to Axminster. The town is known for its carpets, not that they are the only place where they are made. They are infact manufactured all over the world. Apparently, each Weatherspoon pub has an Axminster carpet designed for them, and then ofcourse the Royal Palaces do, too.

Down one of the roads is Rose Cottage, the one in pink, according to a blue plaque on the wall, it is
thought to have been built in
1630
cob walls, timbered ceilings,  inglenook fireplace, and flagstone flooring.

Let’s  look at The Heritage Centre. There is an intriguing black and white photograph exhibition, but of course, no photos are allowed. We can show

It’s easier to put on slippers than to carpet the whole world.

With the car picked up, we leave the town on some winding roads in heavy rain, but after an hour or two, we are passing Stone Henge.

Press on the photo to have a clearer view of Stonehenge and a rainbow.
(If you are knew to our blog, Roy is retired, but Service Drives and sometimes I go too.)

The way I see it, if you want the rainbow you have to put up with the rain.

A small portion of the road we travelled today. I see this was the sunny part of the three hours.  If you would like more than a glance, here is A 360 View of Stonehenge.

Travel has made me feel tired tonight, but I’m still happy to share.

Sandy 😊
