I brought in three sunflowers all from one broken stem. Here they are with my tortoise signature, something I had from childhood found in a box of second hand things.
I have placed close ups of these sunflowers to break up this post. A different sort of post. I start with something I have been thinking about. I am a Christian so the Bible is my reference for this thought. If I am ” neither here nor there” to the problem of the universe then who is relevant and what is going to happen to our Earth?
Who is relevant according to the Old Testament and the New Testament?
Isaiah speaks with the voice of God.
‘ I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour…
And what about us?
‘ I have declared, and have showed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore you are my witnesses, that I am God. Before the day was I am He, and there is none that can deliver out of my hand.’
Then Isaiah prophecies: ‘ The LORD has made His holy arm bare in the eyes of the nations; and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.
Isaiah continues by answering what this will look like and he wrote about it approximately 700 years before it all happened.
This is how he describes Jesus using nature:
‘ For He will grow up as a tender plant with a root in dry ground . Not handsome/ beautiful to make us want him. He is despised/ hated and rejected by people, He is a sorrowful man and knows grief… He is wounded for our sins.’
Why all this fuss about sin?
Because we are His witnesses that He is God saved by God in relationship with God. He is three. God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. We are witness to their power and their ability to save us all completely.
Why?
Because as Jesus said:
‘ People will become very afraid when they see the bad things happening to the Earth. For the powers of heaven will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man / Jesus coming in the clouds with power and great glory.’
So why won’t He just destroy the Earth and everyone and start again as though we were neither here nor there?
Sandy says: ‘Well, because we are His witnesses that He is God and that we have chosen to be saved through believing in the death of the Son of God to take away our sin. We are relevant.
So what will happened to our well loved Earth?
John answers this in Revelation 20: 11,12. He describes a period of time in heaven where the books are opened including the book of life. Sandy says: ‘ A time to ask questions.’
Then it will be back to our Earth from heaven and with these words from Jesus as revealed to John:
‘ Look I make all things new.’

I enjoyed travelling with these thoughts. They are big and take faith but then most of how we live is through faith.
Which is what?
