Jesus says ‘abide in Me.’

This post will be mostly religious with three photographs one from the meadow the other from our garden next to the pond and looking at the height of our grass daffidols this year.

From the oaks in the meadow to the crocus by the pond everything has had more than enough rain. Our forcast for today is light rain and a gentle breeze.

The meadow with the oaks…

And the crocus by the pond…

Unusual this, Jesus didn’t say He was a palm tree or an oak tree or any tree instead He said:

‘ I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener the branches are you who believe in Me.’ John 15 :1

Jesus goes on to say ‘Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it stays connected to the vine, no more can you unless you stay connected to me.’ John 15: 4

Jesus depended on God as He invites us to depend on Him.

Jesus had said earlier these words ‘]By myself I can do nothing, I judge only as I hear, and my judgement is just, for I don’t seek to please myself but Him who sent me.’ John 5:30.

Now there are some strong words between John 15: 1 and 4.

Jesus says this: ‘Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, hthe gardener) takes away and every branch that has fruit he purges, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now you are clean through the word I have spoken to you.’

John 15: 2,3

Jesus invites us to find support, growth, discipline and productivity in Him.

‘Abide in Me, and I in you.’

Today this is my desire through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
