Chrysanthemums, oak leaves and Choisya ternata petals.

A Bible thought:

Cast your cares on Jesus because He cares for you. Or as Sandy sees it ‘ be assertive and clear when you speak because He / Jesus cares. There is no need to be timid/shy just say it!’

This was how Peter saw it. The verse is in 1 Peter 5:7.

A group of Japanese vessels; a 1920’s signed jug and a pair of satsuma style ware vases. They are probably not a collection, yet. Definition of a collection is as follows: ‘ when human intention and a shared attribute transform a random asortment into a curated assembly. ‘

I qualify as far as human intention, as I liked them and chose them in St Martins Antique Centre with 19th to 20th century items, and thought they would suit the jug. A group or collection?

The double texture on the pottery of the satsuma pair is what drew me and that they are not exactly the same, the price, £10 for two. I did like a planter for the garden at £330 or so and I could have had it for less, but that is not me.

The chrysanthemums are open and at their best in the garden. A good choice for the small vases as the Japanes see chrysanthemums promising longevity, joy and positive growth.

The oak leaves are from the ancient trees displayed alone in the 1920’s jug. Age with age. The meadow is full of colour.

One leaf from an ancient tree in the jug. Patches of colour with no bleeding green, yellow and brown. ‘Well drawn and coloured by nature, ‘says Sandy.

A center piece, a thinning on the top, orange yellow and tinged with green, a leaf covered tree in the field. Grey skies make for a great contrast and it is good to have a twig of it in our home.

But here is a really bright end . Those Chrysanthemums in the garden. A hundred smiles.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
