‘ Be still Sandy, and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the Earth. The LORD of many angels/ hosts is with me and you.’ ( Mine make it yours if you like.)
Psalm 46: 10
We have family members who run each morning much as my Dad did through all my growing years. Up early and ready to take in the early morning views. This time we saw the Serpentinite in London before 9 am with its early morning swimmers, then there were the 90 reminders that you were on The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk and as one got to ‘ the moved’ (something I read in a blog yesterday) Marble Arch there was great encouragement for
Together for childhood.
Out of the park, there were scenes of early grey grandeur as Buckingham Palace and Queen Victoria’s gold, yellow against grey brought brightness to the scene. And with continued walking and interest there were these two contrasting sculptures: Lioness and lesser Kudu by a British Sculptor Jonathan Kenworthy and the second sculpture Stone (Butch) by Ro Robertson.
Lastly a sandwich or should it be fruit in Harrods.
Let us do some of this in photographs.

The heads of swimmers can just be seen.
The water for the Serpentine is pumped from three boreholes within Hyde Park, the most recent being installed in May 2012. It was dug/created for Queen Caroline wife of George II.

‘ To the memory of Queen Caroline wife of George II for whom the
Long Water and Serpentine
were created between 1727-1731′

A heraldic rose etched in the centre is one of 90 that leads one in a figure-eight pattern through Kensington Garden, Hyde Park, ( where this one is) Green Park, and St James’ Park.
I remember well how after Princess Diana’s fatal accident I went into London to place flowers, in my own sadness, for her family. I had no trouble knowing where to go I followed people carrying bunches of flowers.
This October morning in London had an October rose also.

Our capital.
Our London.
Then before this, a lively band encouraged the runners for Together for Childhood. Let us watch a while.
It was later and we let ourselves wonder. We saw much but here are two sculptures.

‘ Lioness and lesser Kudu
by Jonathan Kenworthy commissioned by his grace the Duke of Westminster to mark the opening of Upper Grosvenor Gardens.’
Having grown up in Africa this sight took a while to leave. Then another scene of interest:

Frieze on Sloan Street.’
I was interested to read that this is part of a body of works where landscape provides the creative areas to pour plaster making castings. Looking at these, they relate them to the human body as an unusual area and an artistic way of marrying earth and body. This is definitely from my perspective.
The Frieze London 2025 is this coming week and many of the affordable tickets are sold out.
It is then into Harrods: Is it those beef sandwiches or fruit? Your choice and price.

An early start and a thought-provoking walk.
Here are some thoughts about running races / running.
‘ The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start.’
John Bingham
‘ Running from your problems is a race you’ll never win.’
Kid Cudi
‘ The sharpest minds often ruin their lives by overthinking the next step, while the dull win the race with eyes closed.’
Really! Who said that?
And that rose in Hyde park. I spent time sketching and then painting it. Why? Because I wanted to experience it.

By Sandy with love for my Mum.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
I enjoyed your early morning walk. That’s my time of the day.😁
Yes, it was mine too and as for that kill you have seen the real thing many times. I have seen the hunt and possibly the pounce and the devouring but not the actual grab!
