In this post, I will look at a verse and then focus on the yellow archangel and the haze of the bluebell woods. I will also include a tree I photographed on 24 April and again on 28 April.
Peter speaking: ‘ The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.’ 1 Peter 3:12
Eyes of God. They are watchful and protective over those who strive to live in accordance with His will. It implies that He is aware of their struggles.
Ears of God. They are open. Prayer is presented as a connection with God, and He listens and is willing to respond.
Face of God. The Lord is against those who do evil. It suggests consequences for a life of disobedience and that God’s justice will eventually be carried out. ( AI )

The common names archangel and dead – nettle for this plant have been in use for hundreds of years, dating back to at least the 16th century. It blooms from May to June and has become more noticeable in the bluebell woods as the large coarse bracken unfurl their divided leaves. This touch of yellow, as well as other plants growing fast, has made the bluebells in parts of the wood less visible.

I tried to capture the blue haze of the flowers in an area newly opened on the edge of the woods and then a capture of a spot I had been watching.

I think it was at its best yesterday evening.
This is my sixth and final post from the Bluebell Woods 2025, and for those who love trees, here is a tree I videod on 28th April. (If you want to compare how it looked on 24th April it is in my post trees of the Bluebell Woods.)
‘ Never say there is nothing beautiful in the world anymore. There is always something to make you wonder in the shape of a tree, the trembling of a leaf. ‘
Albert Schweitzer
It is sunny, and I will be back in the garden today.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
