Red Robin and viburnum keep their leaves but have new growth in spring.
The other two shrubs are starting from the beginning again.
As does the tortured willow tree.
All new leaves.

Crown thining, crown lifting, crown reduction. I looked at some tree crowns/canopies today.

from the meadow

How lovely to see the new leaves.
Religion
Who are those from ancient times said to be in heaven? :
Enoch
‘And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.’
Genesis 5: 21 – 24
Moses
Matthew 17 : 1- 8, Mark 9: 2- 13, Luke 9: 28- 36
These three writers tell of Moses and Elijah being with Jesus. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes were white as the light. Luke says they ” spoke about His decease, which he should accomplish at Jersualem.” All three writers say Jesus said : ” Don’t tell anyone of what you have seen until I am risen from the dead.”
So, I assume Moses was raised from the dead and is in heaven.
Elijah
2 Kings 2 : 1- 11
A fascinating account of how Elisha and Elijah were talking and their appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire, and parted the two men, and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
Another person in heaven.
Then there is an unnumbered group, and only Matthew talks about them.
Matthew 27 : 52 – 53
These people were in their graves:
‘ And, behold , the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom and earth did quake, and the rocks rent and the graves were opened, and many bodies of the saints arose, and came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many.’
Did they continue living here on earth or go to heaven. They could be there? I don’t know.
I wanted to travel with this because Thessalonians 4 : 13 – 18 and Ecclesiastes 9: 5-10 were making me think.
Well, the Bible seems to place these ancient ones in heaven already.
I have travelled from a jug of spring leaves, two ancient oak crowns, and the reduced tortured willow crown to some ancient texts that influence all of us as Christians. Quite a journey if you travelled with me.
However we see it, letting our sympathy become compassion for those who suffer here is what is important.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
