Grape hyacinths circle the coming of the tulip, their thin, long leaves lie on the ground.
‘ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will live in the house of the Lord for ever.’ Psalm 23 : 6
If I could share a tulip with you, Mum
It would be the first this spring, 2025
The yellow went to orange as the hours went into days
It will not go green again!
You are asleep
A deep, gone sleep
But
You will rise,
like Lazurus
I will see you,
with my eyes
Will the tulip be green?
Will we rise to meet our God in the skies?
My desire is to rise! I know yours was, too.I remember you said the whole twenty-third psalm
and as if to keep it in your weakest body
repeated forever, forever
FOR EVER...
And so it will be Mother's Day FOR EVER one day!
The first tulip in our garden as I watched it change:

Thank you for allowing me to share this with you. / Nice of you to read this.
Sandy 🙂
Ps
After I wrote this post about Mum, I read this:
‘ What an artist is trying to do for people is bring them closer to something, because of course, art is about sharing. You wouldn’t be an artist unless you wanted to share an experience a thought.’
David Hockney
I then went on to watch this, which, if you press on the following, you will see what I learned from.

This got long! 🤣
You DO bless us in the sharing of your words and photos! Thank you.
Oh, thank you, Karen. I feel too old to really think I am communicating with others using tech. It is just like trying to have a convincing conversation with myself. So, a big thank you for your DO! 🤣
Lovely tribute to your Mum, and what a gorgeous tulip, I love the stages and your poem!
Thank you so much, Donna. My mum was such a character, and I admire her more now that I am almost her age.
Fabulous! Thank you 🙏 I loved reading your tulips poem to your mum. I would write something like that in appreciation to my mum. Mums are so special and missed.
I also really found the video about David Hockney very interesting and inspiring.🤗👌🌺🌈
I’m so pleased you found this post interesting. David Hockney has a wonderful way of seeing . Complex yet simple. The Yorkshire scenery is also so special.
Yes he is very inspiring… Thinking big, out the box… I watched one where he discusses Vincent van Gogh’s paintings and I love van Gogh as well.
When we studied art history at school David Hockney wasn’t known, then when I studied art through UniSA I first discovered him… I think he’s got better and better.
I am not a religious person, but you share your religious beliefs beautifully.
Thank you how kind of you to tell me!
