Purple heart and white velvet plant

Here are two plants: one did well the other not so well. Tradescantia pallida / purple heart and Tradescantia sillamontana / white velvet.

These two plants were started from slips, and I can’t remember where I took them from. They are both very common in hot countries so I must have been travelling.

Purple heart

Purple heart was in a frost free shelter and is healthy.

White velvet was inside and terribly dry.

I have taken off the dying leaves and given it plenty of water, making sure the pot was well drained before putting it back. I am pleased with the new shoots.

Those who know my blog know that I always start with a Bible verse, but today, I kept asking questions, so it got long. I have put it second for this reason.

Jesus is speaking to Satan after 40 days and nights without food:

‘ It is written, People shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’

Sandy: ‘ So where is this written?’

Jesus is quoting this from something Moses said:

‘ And He humbled you people, and let you be hungry, and then fed you with manna, which was new to you, that you may be made to know that people do not live by bread only ,but by every word that proceeds out of the LORD do people live.’

Deuteronomy 8:13

Sandy: So what words in particular proceed from the mouth of God?

‘And God spoke all these words… Exodus 20 : 1 – 17

Four ways to show love to God.

Six ways to show love to each other.

10 commandments.

I found this interesting because I had never bothered to do this before. Travel with a verse.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
