Snowdrops on a grey day.

Religion

‘Like a father feels sympathy for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who respect Him. For He knows our anatomy, He remembers that we are dust.

( And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7)

As for men and women , their days are as grass; as a flower of the field , so they flourish. For the wind passes over it, and it’s gone; and the place where it was won’t know it anymore.’

Psalm 103 : 13-16

Snow drops…
…on a grey day.

Our garden has snow drops, not many but enough to know February will soon be with us.

I photographed the snowdrops inside in natural light. The light coming in is seen above the tortured willow and the apple tree in my second photograph.

I then spent time with these lovely flowers:

My time with them.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂

Ps

Here are some words by William Wordsworth:

To a snowdrop

Lone flower, hemmed in with snows and white as they

But hardier far, once more I see thee bend

Thy forehead, as if fearful to offend.

Like an unbidden guest… storms, sallying from the mountain tops way lay

the rising sun, and on the plains descend

Yet art thou welcome, welcome as a friend

Whose zeal outrun his promise! Blue eyed May

Shall soon behold this border thickly set

With bright jonquils, their odors lavishing

On the soft west wind and his frolic peers;

Nor will I then thy modest grace forget,

Chaste Snowdrop, venturous harbinger of Spring,

And pensive monitor of fleeting years!

  1. Beautiful! I love snowdrops. They are prolific in the Cape in spring too. I suspect they originated there in the UK .
