Who is Sandy?

No  sabbath walk, just a talk. Who am I?

I trust in Jesus as my Saviour.

I believe in the Bible as the inspired word of God.

I worship on Saturdays.

For these three reasons, I choose to be a practising Seventh Day Adventist.

I am married to Roy. We got married on 29th October 1978. It was once said : ” marriage is a container for a family.”⁹

We have two adult sons, one in his early forties, the other in  his late thirties.

We steer a  sadness together like a glass boat on a tumultuous sea.

Pain can never be under estimated in its ability to increase the appreciation of beauty.

The above is reflected in my interpretation of the beauty I see and expressed in my posts. The forms are varied:

Photographs

Our garden

Flowers cut and arranged from our garden

Travel through the UK,France, Italy, Greece, and recently Scandinavia

Poetry and more recently painting.

It is others’ poetry and painting  that have intrigued me. Their legacies to us through the discussion of others. I particularly enjoy hearing the voice of a poet long resting reading their own poetry or look at paintings presented. These I often link to my posts and listen and look again when I please.

This connection to the past and the possibility of it making me more appreciative of our lives inspires me.

But

Posting/blogging is a strange thing!

Why?

Let me tell you first that I was once a teacher of English as a foreign language. Thirty- five years with students in the classroom.  I have the’ Diploma,’ the ‘MA ‘all correct and from the UK. But it was never in this I put my trust. I always questioned myself about each class  I taught. Was it of the right standard? Did it achieve the necessary aim? Simply , was it good enough? Good enough for what I now ask myself. Each semester / term, I wondered if I should carry on. I am surprised it was so long!

This feeling dogs my posting as I fumble and make mistakes, accepting  or blocking. Not knowing how this unusual world works. Just when I think I know,  I don’t.

The strangeness is such that each post feels like my last and defying my resolve never is.

What next, I haven’t a clue.

My memories in the menu tell you of my past ending in a date unknown and starting 7th April 1956. My poems are a bit muddled but under poems.

This, in short, is enough about me.

No Sabbath walk today.

Take care.

Sandy 🙂

PS

Here are three, threes. Three photographs, three flower arrangements, and three paintings.

Travel in France and a flower arrangement in the 1920s coffee pot.
