‘ Our sin cannot separate us from the love of God/ God’s love.
Human love may change, but God’s love knows no change.
Circumstances may separate friends; the broad ocean may roll between them; but
no circumstances,
no distance
can separate us from the love of God.’

The joy of painting for me is not the product. I sometimes happily smear the painting, changing it completely, but I know the foundation of colours that are behind the smear. It is the pleasure of looking.

I have had some pleasant times this week. I saw some lovely paintings, sketches that amazed me, and some delicately drawn petunias. Word Press is an amazing space, and I am grateful.
Here are some quotes from JMW Turner. He was an English Romamtic painter, printmaker, and watercolourist. Born 1775 and died of cholera 1851.
‘ It is only when we are no longer fearful that we begin to create.’
‘ My job is to paint what I see, not what I know.’
‘ I know no secret but hard work. This is a secret that many never learn, and they don’t succeed because they don’t learn it. Labour is the genius that changes the world from ugliness to beauty and the great curse to a great blessing.’
Three quotes from many I read. My next question was:
“Did Turner ever paint a vase of flowers?”
Yes, he did as part of an old library scene. The painting is in the Tate. ‘Petworth House: the Old Library. Vase of Lilies, Dahlias, and other flowers ‘ JMW Turner. 1827. Here is a sketch of mine of what I saw.

I then watched this fascinating account. The story of Turner and Constable’s rivalry is entertaining at the start. How to handle jealousy🤣 Press here to enjoy. The Arts Hole JMW Turner Understanding Mode…
Have a good day, and thank you to those who are willing to take the risk of speaking to me.

Wow! The flowers in a cup is a great idea, I’ll have to copy that. I love the terracotta pot with all those colorful blooms!
My pleasure.
