Primroses and Marsh Marigold leaves.

“For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and in rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and he would not.” Isaiah 30 : 15

‘The Lord wants human beings to take time to rest, time to think of and appreciate heavenly things. Those who do not value the things of heaven sufficiently to give time to them will at last lose all.’

In my post, Primroses, and gifted bulbs,  the primroses looked bedraggled but with good roots, which I put into the ground. Since then, the double tulip bulbs have come up thickly between them with their vibrant heads of yellow, orange, and red, and  have gone to straw colour, leaving their bulbs under the primroses. Today, I want you to see the primroses all in the space of a shelf in the metal cupboard planter.

The primroses thriving.

Now to the pond where the marsh marigold leaves are. I was cutting the  mature leaves off to tidy things up and holding them in my hands as a bunch their circles of brown were so appealing I arranged them and painted them.

Some land and water quotes:

Water is the most critical resource issue of our lifetime and our children’s lifetime. The health of our waters is the principal measure of how we live on the land.

Luna Leopald

The river moves from land to water to land, in and out of organisms, reminding us what native people have never forgotten: that you cannot separate the land from the water, or the people from the land.

Lyn Culbreath Noel 1926 – 2016 An American news reporter. She also said: ‘ The first river you paddle runs through the rest of your life. It bubbles up in pools and eddie’s to remind you who you are.’

It is really sunny here. A good day to continue to be in the garden.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂

  1. Only an artist could see the beauty in this leaf! Yes, water is so essential and here in Ohio, USA, our lawns and gardens are in such stress this summer as showers are sporadic and far between. Lois

    1. Ah, they genuinely are each such unique ‘characters’. Thank you 😊. Sorry about the water issues in Ohio we seem to get plenty of water and then not store it properly. Our World!!!
