Starting from Luneburg Germany…

The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to everybody, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly  lusts we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and appearing of the great God and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Titus 2: 11-13

We arrived at a very full park up in Luneburg. People had come to enjoy the weekend at this Medieval old town with its red brick Gothic – style buildings, some leaning due to the salt mining it grew from.

A Sabbath morning walk from Bugzy through the town brought us to our place of worship.

A young woman who had attended summer school in England and spent time in Ireland translated for us. The German here was fast and difficult to follow.

My enjoyment with paint and brush of this pleasant northern German town.

From here, we travelled to Wismar, which was peaceful and mostly shut by 9pm. Again, we got the last space in the motorhome park. People travelling and enjoying the country.

Wismar is on the Baltic Sea and was constructed around 1600.

Notice the clean,
peaceful streets
hardly anyone in town.
The gables’ shapes against a soft evening sky.
A town silently accepting night fall.

The next morning, we left for Rostock, arriving in time for the ferry to Trelleborg, Sweden. It took 7 hours and was very comfortable.  Bess was able to be with us in a lounge catering for pet owners.

From Trellborg, we travelled on…

…and this is my first picture of this country,
Sweden.
It is so totally new to me that I feel the excitement of unwrapping a present.
We will continue to enjoy
Scandinavia.

Here are two thoughts using the word salt one from an atheist, the other a Christian

Wisdom lies in taking everything  with good humour and a grain of salt.

George Santayana 1863-1952 Spanish-American philosopher, poet, novelist who also said: ” Only the dead have seen the end of war .”

Sometimes, we need the salt tears to remind us how to savour the sweetness of life.

Lysa TerKeurst 1969 .She is an American speaker and author of Christian nonfiction. She wrote: Uninvited: Living Loved when You Feel Less Than, Left Out and Lonely.

We will be travelling  soon. Roy has arrived back from a bike ride.

Take care, and thank you for looking at this post from Sweden.

Sandy 🙂

Ps

The seven iris stalks from my post, Irises and grass
are in bloom at home.
