Grass and Irises

If anyone needs wisdom, let them ask God,He gives it liberally. Study…to rightly divide the word of truth…the grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.

James 1:5, 2 Timothy 2:15, Isaiah 40:8
All these verses are interesting as wholes and in the contexts of their chapters.

When the rain stopped for a while, we got some of the weeds out from a bed of irises. The thick roots were so bedded in with the iris tubers that it would have destroyed the iris plant to get them up.  The tubers like to be a little above the ground, and the weeds have been left leafless but with active roots. Now , there are seven iris stalks with neat buds above their spear shaped leaves all in different stages. I hope the cats, fox, or wind don’t snap them off. This has happened before.

Walking over the sodden grass this morning, I noticed how it sparkled. Everything is so well watered.

Some plants pool water, and others let it roll down . Raindrops are fascinating.

If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, your soul is alive.

Thank you for looking at the beauty as I saw it in the garden today.
