Sweet Woodruff, goosegrass, and Geum

Here is an interesting commentary: ” It was a wonderful thing for God to create man, to  make mind

One person is of more value than a world.

God created man that every faculty might be the faculty of the divine mind.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the author of our being, and he is also the author of our redemption.

For the weapons of our warfare are not earthly(carnal) , but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

EG White 2 Corinthians 10 :45 (Sandy’s combination of thinking.)
Geum, sweet woodruff, goosegrass and green alkanet.
A sample of plants I am working with in the garden today.
All in a clear glass.

Come into a sunny garden this morning. Here are some big sticky complicated plant challenges.

Plants growing together in the garden and not easy to separate:  Sweet woodruff and goosegrass (cleavers/catchweed/ robin-run- the- hedge.) It’s last name fits today’s experience with this weed. I purposefully planted the sweet woodruff as it likes partial to full shade, moist rich soil, and is a pretty ground cover, but it is now mixed with the weed. Everything has a bit of robin-run-the- hedge next to it!

The whorl of leaves six to nine of them on the sweet woodruff are sweet smelling and joined together  by the stem. Their white flower has four petals joined at the base.

Green Alkenet and sweet woodruff flowers. The alkenet is taking every possible space between plants. The conditions must be excellent for it this year. It is competing with the goose grass/Robin-run… to take over the garden!

The vase has a flower I have just bought and need to plant out, a  tangerine geum. Sadly, it has an attack  of green fly, which I am washing off with dish washing soap. I suppose that is a sticky situation, too.🤣

Life/ the garden in a sticky raw state. But remember:

Disappointment is a sticky one because no one can steel contentment, joy, gratitude, or peace – we have to give it away.

Kristin Armstrong ( 1973 A former professional road bicycle racer and three- time gold medalist, the winner of the woman’s time trial 2008,2012, and 2016.) She also said: ” It is not only moving that creates new starting points. Sometimes, all it takes is a subtle shift in perspective, an opening of the mind, an intentional pause and reset, or a new route to see new options and new possibilities.”
The same ‘problems’ in an earthenware jug.

I hope I see more of my plants by the end of today.

Take care.

Sandy 🙂
