Camassia leichtlini

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, looking at the evil and the good.

Proverbs 15 : 3.
Camas is a perennial herbaceous plant that grows from a bulb.
The inflorescence is a spike-like cluster on a leafless stem held above the leaves.

During the spring, it needs consistent water, but once it has flowered and seed pods have formed, it is not harmed by drought conditions.

This spring, our garden has had ‘consistent water ‘. This new plant in a pot has done well. I will plant it out when it is more established.

In contrast to the red, yellow and orange tulips, the camas has a blue simplicity.

I took this word simplicity and let it travel.

Here are a few quotes:

Simplicity and elegance are unpopular because they require hard work and discipline to achieve and education to be appreciated.

Edger Dijkstra

There is no greatness where there is no simplicity, goodness and truth.

Leo Tolstoy

The art of simplicity is a puzzle of complexity.

Douglas Horton

The simplicity of  God is that He is

Goodness

Mercy

Justice

Power

Love.

God speaking: “Am I a God at hand, and not a God far away?

Can anyone hide himself in secret places that I won’t see him?

Do I not fill heaven and earth? (Jeremiah 23: 23-24)

Jermiah speaking: ” Ah, LORD GOD! Look, you have made the heaven and earth by your great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for you!”

(Jermiah 32:17)

The gospel’s simplicity depends on a faith that God exists, is holy and loving, and wants a relationship with us.

The camas plant was brought inside and photographed.
A “simple ” flower.

The camas have bloomed well with the rain, and other plants are doing well, too. Yesterday morning, I captured some of those rain drops on new rose leaves, a young acer tree, and a  clematis stem twisting around the fence. While I am getting tired of the rain, I thought these were memorable captures. These plants are growing and changing quickly they will not be like this next week.

Let us look at new leaves covered in droplets

The best thing one can do when it’s raining is to let it rain.

Into each life, some rain must fall.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

In the second quote, the author is writing from a broken heart. His wife has just died, and the poem reveals this ache as well as that of others press on The rainy day to listen to it.

” In character, in manner, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity.” This quote also belongs to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
