Pansies and tulips

Before Jesus was crucified, the people were given a choice between Barabbas or Jesus. They had a custom where one prisoner could be released, and the crowd was swayed by the chief priests and elders to release Barabbas. They then hit Him, put a scarlet robe on Him, pressed a crown of thorns on His head, put a reed in His hands, and mocked Him. (Taken from Matthew 27: 15-30 Sandy’s summary ).

For God so loved this World that He gave His Son so that whoever chooses to believe Him can have eternal life.

John 3 : 16 (Sandy’s wording)

I went to our garden with no particular ideas for this post, but we have storm Kathleen predicted for this weekend, and nature was responding. The trees most obviously and then I particularly noticed the movements of the flowers. The tulips swayed with little rearrangement or movement of their petals while the pansies were ruffled, disturbed, or unsettled , their petals responding to each current of air.

Here is a short video of the  flowers:

The pansies

I then went on a journey as I do on these blogs using the words sway and ruffled.

I had no idea what places they would take me. This is ” Roads we travel ” with sandyroybessbugzy. We will look at sway first.

Here is the feeling of a man about his mother:

Yes, my mum had a huge influence on my life, and the love she had for me, the love we had between each other, did sway me to not do bad things. Sometimes, they say the street raised you, but my mum did the raising.

Anthony Yarde 1991 is a British professional boxer.

To follow are the words of a person who is thought to be the father of the historical novel:

A rusty nail placed near a faithful compass will sway it from the truth and wreck the argosy ( a large merchant ship from Dubrovinik/ Venice).

Walter Scott 1771 -1832 Scottish poet, writer and historian.

And now the obvious:

The amount of military force necessary to provide reassurance depends on how dangerous people think the world is. And that I think ultimately depends upon the kinds of government that hold sway in major countries.

Michael Mandelbaum

We leave sway and follow ruffle.

A ruffled mind makes a restless pillow.

Charlotte Bronte 1816 – 1855 English novelist and poet.

And now a different perspective:

People do change, and change comes like a little wind that ruffles the curtains at dawn, and it comes like the stealthy perfume of wild flowers hidden in the grass. Change may be announced by a small ache, so that you think you are catching cold. Or you may feel a faint disgust for what you had yesterday… And isn’t duscontent the lever of change?

John Steinbeck 1902 – 1968 American writer.

Take care,

Sandy
