Spring tortured willow leaves and lily pads

In Daniel 2, there are a few lines spoken about the actions of God before Daniel gives the meaning of the God-given dream. (This dream foretold the rise and fall of Babylon 605-539, Medo-Persia 539-331BC, Greece 331-168 BC, Rome 168BC-476 AD, Ten Kingdoms 476 AD- til now)

Here are Daniel’s words about God:

He changes times and seasons.

He removes Kings and sets them up.

He gives wisdom to the wise.

He gives knowledge to the understanding.

He reveals the deep and secret things.

He knows what is in the darkness and light lives with Him.

(These words are spoken by Daniel after God gives him the same dream as the king had had and thereby saves him and the rest of the wisemen in Babylon from being killed by King Nebuchadnezzar.)

Daniel 2: 17-21
The new spring leaves of
tortured willow
On twigs taking their own
shape
in a vase I used for their autumn leaves.

Seasons change, and you change, but the Lord abides evermore the same, and the streams of His love are as deep, as broad, and as full as ever.

Charles Spurgeon

Looking into the pond, new growth is happening not only on land but in water, too.

Water lily pads

Water lily pads creating spring menisci
Look !
Those curves in the water surface
A tension of meetings

Shiny, new maroon lily pads
Now, with the reflected  world of budding land plants
The spring lily pads curled and opening.

Change they will.
From maroon to shady green.

A warning.

Excess generally causes reaction and produces a change in the opposite direction whether it be seasons, or in individuals or in governments.

Plato

Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. No man is safe in his opinions, his person, his faculties, or his possessions.

James Madison 1751 – 1936 Fourth President of the United States.

Take care.

    1. Thank you. That is exactly why I like looking at bird photographs. I noticed sea gulls when not flying had spotted tails, then when painting one flying, the black feathers were at the tips of white wings. It looked purposeful. I am intrigued.
