Cosmos blooming and common Ragwort seeds flying

Now is the time to worship our Father God with sincerity , gratitude, love and the help of the Holy Spirit.

John 4 : 23, 24. (Sandy’s understanding. Make it your own because it is then that it becomes part of your own heart.)

Today I brought in the Cosmos flowers. They are plentiful in all stages and shades of one colour. A colour I am not sure of. They say they come in pink, purple, white, orange, red, yellow and chocolate but which of theses colours they are I don’t really know.

Cosmos with their feathery leaves holding up fine stems.
Seven yellow centered, eight ‘petalled’ flowers.
(Some only having seven petals one lost on the way I guess).

Then looking at another vase…

Common/Hoary Ragwort and willow herb. Mostly now in seed all in a vase.

During lock down before I started posting I brought in some wet dandelions. I was feeling very much how they looked. The next day the sun came out and they were fluffy and ready to fly. I found it magical to see them all in a vase. I couldn’t have brought them in that way because they would have flown. I guess I wanted to see something like that happen again. My garden was full of willow herb and Ragwort so I brought some in.

Earlier this week the Ragwort seeds were the first to leave their group. The three hung together below their ‘home’.

The sweetest part of leaving home is knowing, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that you will always carry it with you.

Not known to me.
It was good to spend time painting them.

The greens behind were mixed with different yellows and blue. Careful with the blue. Once added it doesn’t change to yellow …🙂

The seeds disturbed.
An amazing site.
Careful don’t sneeze!
It will make it worse.

We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time .

T.S. Eliot

Thank you for looking at my post. I wish you only the best.

Sandy 🙂

  1. I really like your painting! We have such amazingly large dandelions in the garden I’ve started using the leaves in soup. Works well.
Cosmos is one of my favourite flowers.

  2. Beautiful ragwort seed painted Sandy! I agree with the saying by TS Eliot to come full circle on our explorations? Thanks for sharing your ideas 🌹

  3. Hi Kelleye, as you paint too I know you probably already know the joy of seeing colours slowly mix and slowly change. I was playing with putting different colours on my brush and letting them mix if they wanted to. Thanks for looking I really appreciate it.
