But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2 :13

Eye catching
here and then there in the beds
a bright red upright amongst the greens.
Leaves oval or elongated.
These are all in the front garden with a sympathetic wooden pole fence to keep the zebra, bush buck, impala and dyka out.

So well camouflaged you need to press on the picture to see him in the middle.
There is a leopard. He makes a kill now and then so we don’t walk out into the darkness without a light to see what is there. The last time we were here he had left his smell on trees near the visitors lodge.
Also bringing leaf colour to the garden is Purple Heart a creeping type of plant with long elegant leaves.

These two red and purple plants both bring their special characters to the front garden where my brother-in- law loves to work. These past 18 months, since we last saw Dad, the garden has matured and changed in numbers of plants and their size. A wonderful place to spend time in.

It is winter now in the Lowveld
but
sunny and warm
(not hot, hot like in summer)
all the time.
A winter sun goes behind the mountains a little earlier
and
then the light follows
the only indication that July is the middle of winter.
I’ve known rivers: I’ve known rivers ancient as the world and older than the flow of human blood in human veins…
Langston Hughes
Here are a few quotes about blood and the heart:
We are linked by blood, and blood is memory without language.
Joyce Carol Oats
Among the things you can give and still keep are your word, a smile, and a grateful heart.

Oh my! What an absolutely beautiful place, Sandy. I saw the bushbuck. I can’t imagine living in a place like this – how wonderful for your family.
Yes, it is an amazingly beautiful part of our world.
Oh my goodnesses Sandy🤦♀️how I miss the bushveld🥰🥰My favourite place on earth. I can hear the sounds in my mind. Enjoy your visit. The garden is just beautiful!
Yes, it is as lovely as you remember it. It is strangely comforting.
Glad you’re relaxing here😍. Frieder just heard a lion roaring in the distance. Good quotes and pics too, as usual.
Aw, thank you. I hope we hear the lion but not too close.
