Still in France

Noticing is part of how I photograph. We have been in France for nearly three weeks here are some thoughts about noticing:

Swan heads carved on a chair in a chateaux.

Streets of houses either beige, fawn, brown, taupe, grey or even white often shabby sheek.

Houses in the glow of a setting sun.

Their shutters egg shell blue, green, grey and many more shades of the above. Some open others closed.

Streets that suntrap people to drink coffee and beaches that bring out coats and scarves with dogs excited to be out.

We are pleased to have been in France!

Here are four of my photographs:

The coast changes with the movement of the waves and here is something else I have been thinking about: Does the Holy Spirit change the thinking of our minds?

Jesus speaking to His disciples just like He is running out of time:

‘ I have many things to say to you but you cannot bear them now.’

Why was that?

Jesus continues: ‘Nevermind (howbeit) when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth: because He won’t speak about Himself; but whatever He hears that He will speak: and He will show you things to come.’

John 16:13 ( John is quoting Jssus)

Then in the same chapter, Luke 11, where Jesus teaches the Lord’s Prayer Jesus says this:

‘ If you being evil know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more will your heavenly Father want to give you the Holy Spirit if you ask Him.’

Ah, and then this rather special way of talking about the Holy Spirit.

Paul speaking: First he says ‘as it is written eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of a person, the things which God has prepared for them that LOVE Him. But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit: because the Spirit searches everthing including the deep things of God.’

1 Corinthians 2:9,10

So what did John see with the Spirit? This is how he says it:

‘ I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet… and I was told to write what I see in a book.’

We have this book. Revelation.

The Holy Spirit will help us understand it. Why?

John is now quoting Jesus: ‘Because it is the Spirit, that quickens, the flesh doesn’t : the words that I (Jesus) speak, they are spirit, and they are life.’

It has already been said so let the Holy Spirit give us enthusiasm and understanding for the living word.

‘ People don’t live by food alone , but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. ‘ Said Jesus.

Matthew 4:4

The Spirit changes and renews the mind as we study God’s words as food nourishes the body and provides nurture for the brain. I believe so. What about you?

I have so much to learn.

We are still in France.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
