Here is something written by Paul to Titus about the Holy Spirit:
‘ Not by good, right works that we have done, but because of His mercy He has saved us, by the washing, regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit which through Jesus we have been given abundantly.’…
He then continues with these lines: ‘ Avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and fighting about the law; because they are unprofitable and vain. A person who is an heretick, after the first or second admonition reject. Knowing that they condemn themselves.’
This is in a short letter where Paul calls Titus his son. An interesting read.
It was a fine walk of four and half miles from Temple park through a brick tunnel along fields and then the Thames. It was mild and the sun a little lower. Walk with us a while. First a grand entrance to an estate with fine ‘October’ roses well cared for. They were the older varieties with fragrances each their own.

Three alloted spaces with three distinct plantings. The box hedging surprisingly healthy considering all the plants lost here and in various other countries we have travelled to.

A tunnel and a puzzel in the form of a Monkey Puzzle tree were both ahead.

Built of brick hiding a public footpath from the view of those who live above. A mysterious way to walk from sun to shade and out again. A monkey puzzle tree/ Araucaria Araucana was another sight where one looked to the light yet this time it was not straight ahead but up to where very large ‘coconuts’ seemed to be growing on a ‘fir tree.’ They are piñones or monkey puzzle nuts. Each cone can hold roughly 200 large almond- sized nuts. They are starchy and taste like chestnuts or large pine nuts. They can be eaten raw/ roasted/boiled for 10 minutes.

The tree an evergreen conifer can live for 1,000 years and grow up to 40m tall. This was an eye catching mature, tree growing to its full potential but strangely close to the front of a house.
Then the Thames reflections of ‘ a large – clouds’ sky with rain maybe but not.

Signets ripple the water they are no longer all taupe but neither white. Elegant and hungry for food.

The views

A gentle flat walk with pleasant conversation. An early October walk. Our Earth World going into Autumn.
And here are three quotes travelling with the word puzzle.
( On a personal level I hate puzzles, Roy loved to do them and to annoy him I would secret away a few pieces and quietly come and put them in when he thought they were lost.)
‘ Life is something like a remarkable exciting puzzle. It comes piece by piece in packages marked days.’
John Powell
‘Life is a puzzle that I feel like we’ll never fully put together.’
Josh Mc Dermitt
Ah and here is the romantic Frank Sinatra:
‘ You may be a puzzle, but I like the way you fit together.’
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
