Yellow or Gold

Daniel is speaking to Nebuchadnezzar: ‘ You, Oh King are a king of kings for the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power and strength, and glory. And wherever people live, the wild animals and all animals and birds are placed in your hands as you have been made the ruler ( the one who makes the final decisions) You are the head of Gold!’ Daniel 2:36, 37 I leave you to continue reading a fascinating interpretation of a dream.

But what is the colour of gold and when would one use it to describe a plant’s flowers. It is the heavy saturation of amber undertones that allow for this colour to be gold.

‘ Give fools their gold, and knaves their power, let fortune’s bubbles rise and fall; who sows a field, or trains a flower, or plants a tree, is more than all.’

John Greenleaf Whittier

Tragedy is like strong acid – it dissolves away all but the very gold of truth.

D.H Lawrence

All the gold which is under the earth is not enough to give in exchange for virtue.

And

Jesse Owens

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
