Gardens from the street Germany.

Some words first:

Don’t be conformed: don’t alter your habits, beliefs, or actions to match a group of prevailing social expectations.

Be transformed: to be completely changed in form, appearance, nature or character- often representing a significant improvement or a permanent shift.

Renewing of the mind : interpreting life through the lens of God’s Word and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, rather than through the lens of your experience, woundedness, trauma, preferences or the opinion of others.

Now for what Paul actually writes to the Romans:

And be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

The start of having a mind change.

While travelling and walking through towns there are gardens to look at ‘ over the fence’. They are made to be viewed from the streets and are sometimes on the street. This post will feature a round about/ traffic circle, three gardens and a road.

The giant blue chair on the roundabout in Bad Wildungen ( Hess, Germany) is a landmark meant to symbolize hospi0tality, relaxation, and a welcoming atmosphere for guests visiting the spa town.

Then Bad Münster am Stein – Ebernburg had this view of a garden from the street. No grass, gravel paths and lush planting with a rose scrambling over an arch and encircling a woman in fine clothes. She was the centre for the planting. The eye was drawn in.

Then to the side another circle with height. The planting mostly of the sort that will cope with hot weather. A feminine pink here and there. A garden looked at from the street.

The detail of the next garden is to be taken in slowly. A place to eat in the distance and a welcome in the foreground. Then antique gardening and household items displayed against the wall and on tapering ladders. Planting to accommodate these items all to be viewed from the street. Healthy herbs a reach away from the window. A delightful garden.

From the street to an intimate space.

A museum of sorts amongst the pink hydrangeas with others.

A window box of herbs: rosemary, basil, and is that chamomile I see, from the street.

Then one more. It is a brand new garden. No lawn. Planted for our changing climate. It has increasing height of planting as it near the a modern minimalistic home and from the street it looks neat and precise. It will thrive in the heat.

Paving placed not exactly in sinct, a nice touch.

Grasses and salvia and…

What is this in place of grass?

Gardens from the street.

Here are a few quotes with street:

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion is to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.

Coco Chanel

Always live in the ugliest house in the street – then you don’t have to look at it.

David Hockney

I had the blues because I had no shoes until upon the street I met a man who had no feet.

Denis Waithley

And so we travel on.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
