An Iris with others.

What are the others? Green alkenet with small flowers that are not forget- me- nots. Then there is Squarrose knapweed. I don’t think I have put this in a vase before.

The head is made of a cluster of bracts and the tip of the bract is bent out. Impressive in its detail. There are three on the plant and more to come. I expect it will spread with the name weed although I paid good money for it.

The cerise in the vase is scabious. The plant has dozens of flowers. It is a bright and a long – term bloomer.

These are all in a plastic blue vase which looks really expensive

Here are some thoughts about prayer from Paul writing in a prison in Rome to the Christians of Philippi.

Pray saying thank you and let God hear your request and God’s peace which is beyond understanding will keep your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4: 6,7 ( I have made this my own.)

Then Paul writes to the Jewish Christians:

Jesus our high priest is touched by our weakness and how we feel because He experienced the same but didn’t sin. So let us come confidently to His throne of grace and get mercy in our times of need.

Hebrews 4:16 (I have made this my own.)

And here are some quotes from people about prayer:

Any concern too small to be turned into prayer is too small to be made into a burden.

Corrie Ten Boon

And now for Voltaire

Lord make my enemies ridiculous.

And John Bunyan

In prayer it is better to be a heart without words than words without heart.

The garden has many buds opening this morning and I am most surprised by the growth of the rhubarb flower. Here it is in two photographs the second with some detail of black fly.

The parchment is still there but just a beige, curl below a small leaf on a stem. It was once important.

The facinating ants with the black fly. The pear tree is also badly affected but the lady birds seem pleased.

I have cut off a lot but must wash the tree with liquid dish washing foam if we are to still have a tree with fruit.

It is good to have these in our garden in good numbers.

She is busy on a pear tree leaf.

Lady bird, lady bird, fly away your house is on fire and your…

This is awful! I must find out where that nursery rhyme came from!

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
