The common chestnut tree…

…and the red chestnut tree all in bloom with

flint houses in the village of Lewknor.
Where is this? We are walking from the village in an area which includes a national nature reserve, Aston Rowant. It is situated on the chalk escarpment of the Chilterns over-looking the Oxford Plain.
I will place ancient scripture which has vivid future fulfillment beneath some photographs of this centuries old well used, worn land. Here where there are sunken ways, chalklands, beech woodland, flint quaries and red kites flying overhead in large numbers.
Green blades of a crop rising through the chalky ground, with a well established crop on the left.

David speaking: ‘ Our God will come, and will not keep silence: a fire will devour before Him, and it will be tempestious before Him… And the heavens will declare His righteousness for God is judge Himself.’
Psalm 50 : 3,6

Jesus speaking: To those people who say sorry for the evil they have done and choose to do right I will give them to eat from the tree of life, which is in the middle of the Paridise of God. Revelations 2:7

Thick deep brown leaves below fresh,newly-lit, green and wet spring growth. The beech woods in the rain. With views from under an oak of fields of fluorescent yellow.

A walk with gentle but persistent up hill then views from a steep descent. A ‘ be careful of slipping on wet grass and chalk’ as you take in the views.

And here is a quote from Charles Spurgeon:
‘You are no saint,’ says the devil. ‘Well, if I am not, I am a sinner, and Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners. Sink or swim, I go to Him, other hope I have none.’

And so what is this?
A redkite has made a kill. It is there. It happened so quickly a flapping of vast wings and then silence.

An afternoon of varying paths, lanes, roads and thick leaf mold to scuff through. Sun and rain because remember it is a bank holiday weekend.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂

‘ Sometimes you need to press pause to let everything sink in.’
Sebastian Vettle
Yes I find I have to press pause a lot to let things sink in ..and savour life and ponder in words spoken to me by God. đź’–
