Sabbath circular walk of 5 miles from Eton through Windsor

Our walk was in brilliant sunshine with blue skies. People were relaxed and enjoying the banks of the Thames near Windsor and Eton was busy. The open fields were filled with growing green while cricket was being played on a finer cut space.

In this post I will use what I photographed to illustrate my understanding of ‘looking beyond.’ I will use Bible references to look beyond in a spiritual sense.

Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

Psalms 119:18

A prayer for spiritual insight to understand the deeper truths of God’s Word. God’s grace helps us to see the beauty, wisdom and wondrous things in scripture.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2 Corinthians 4: 18

Paul helps us to remember that our visible troubles do not constitute the whole of reality. Instead there are spiritual truths, such as faith, God’s kingdom and future glory.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.

Romans 8:18

Dear friends,

Now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as he is.

1 John 3:2

Look beyond in faith, and feel His presence now

Look beyond and speak to him in confidence, His presence is with you now.

Look beyond and find peace in His care now.

  1. I love the photo of the two arches Sandy. Reminds me of binoculars and lets you see further than the naked eye can see. Beautiful day!
