Stones

‘Do not move the ancient boundary Or go into the fields of the fatherless, For their Redeemer is strong; He will plead their case against you.’

Proverbs 23: 10-11

It was a pleasure to feel the texture of the stone in one’s hand and then find ‘ the balance spot’ between the two. This was particularly noticeable when placing the third stone. It was a delicate balance but it stayed as I worked with the other groups.

‘ Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shere, and named it Ebenezer, saying:

” Thus far the LORD has helped us.”

Samuel 7:12

This next stone is what I used to balance the other groups on. I made sure each group could balance alone before putting it on this ‘ base ‘ stone. After photographing I tried to increase the number of stones on the end pile and it made everything fall.

Everything changes even stone.

Claude Monet

The whale was a Whitby find, an addition to the fine natural stones from north beach.

Here is something said twice:

There will always be rocks in the road ahead of us. They will be stumbling blocks or stepping stones; it all depends on how you use them.

Friedrich Nietzsche

And

We can choose to throw stones, to stumble on them, to climb over them, or to build with them.

William Arthur Ward.

  1. Beautiful stones and quotes Sandy. I do love stones especially ones on the beach. They have been through a lot and can tell a story each, I am sure🧐😀
