‘And now living together is faith, hope, love but the greatest of these three is love.’
1Corinthians 13:13
Seen + given + had = together
I saw the arches of white and maroon brambles at Wisley
A friend gave me a bunch of daffidols
I had a vase from Cornwall and a pair of candle holders from Devon
And I put them together.

The arches weren’t exactly there in the shrub I have in our garden. I looked for a stalk that had grown that way. When I held the bunch of not yet open daffidols I remembered that sometimes as early as January they are picked in Devon and Cornwall because the climate is so mild. I then knew how it all should be: the vase they should go in, the pottery one from near Saint Ives, together with the Clovelly candle holders made by Clive, and two thin candles to match the stalks and stems with a little fire for warmth on this grey day. A memory of four beautiful places Wisely, Saint Ives, Clovelly and our garden.
Why bother?
Hands help remember and enjoy and I haven’t photographed a candle reflection close up before.

‘ Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love that is the soul of genius.’
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Have a good day.
