First a religious thought from the Bible:
Here is Paul talking about how we change by looking: ‘ By looking at the loveliness and glory of the Lord we are changed by the Spirit of the Lord.’ 2 Corinthians 3: 18 (My way of saying it.) Then the same person Paul says this:
‘We have a High Priest/ Jesus, who died on a cross, who is touched by our feelings of bodily illness and mental/moral weakness because He was tempted in all ways as we are but didn’t sin. So let us talk to Him/ Jesus boldly as He sits on a throne of grace and gives mercy and grace to help in a time of our need.’ Hebrews 4:15
Now for food and travel.
A day on the road and some food enjoyed in Córdoba with a few photographs.
Soup

Not just any soup but one made with a whole boiled chicken. Maimonides Soup, Jewish Penicillin, named after the Sephardic doctor from Cordoba who prescribed this chicken and spice soup to alleviate various health problems.
We went to a particularly nice restaurant for me to have it two days in a row. It was delicious and at €6.00 a bowl it was good with a side order of village bread and olive oil.
Another stop for food at another time.Three vegetarian options:
Don’t laugh this is odd but being vegetarian with Roy not eating meat at all, we had grilled asparagus with flakes of cheese, grilled lettuce hearts with ‘ blue cheese’ and for starters cold cream soup with almonds and figs.
Have a look:

The heart is usually sweet or bitter these were sweet.

Remember what Charles Lamb said : ‘ Asparagus inspires gentle thoughts.’

Light and not sweet.
Then a breakfast served where workers come. This is how it happened. We have had trouble with an air block in the water system so we were waiting for two hours in a light industrial area, but the wait turned out to be interesting. I had wanted to have one of the traditional Spanish breakfasts and it was good to see it being served a warm pleasant place.

Toasted open roll with cold fresh tomatoe no seasoning. Olive oil, salt and pepper on the table. I enjoyed the space and the place.
Now for the wide open countryside. The Spanish lands have had rain some are ploughed others with closely planted olive trees. A colourful green, red and open flatnes with undulating hills in parts.

There have been several of these large figures of a bull and this one I managed to photograph.

The wind is cold, the clouds scurry through the blue sky as we all pass by. A fine day on the road.

Prickly pear in hazy sunshine with shadow.

I wondered what these young trees were.
It is good to be on the road.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
The food looks delicious. 👏
Some more than others.🤣
🤣 I remember when we travelled in Spain… I don’t eat pork and I am very weary of how things are cooked, like how fresh the fish is because purines develop in day old food especially fish… I landed up eating a lot of Tortilla de Patatas (potato omelette), and in Portugal my go to was pastel del nadas and vegetarian food.
We have eaten lots of different salads and side order vegetables and chips. Their tomatoes and oranges are always good.
