Jesus saw his disciples fishing. They had been out all night and caught nothing!
‘Do you have any meat?’ Jesus shouted.
‘ No!’
‘ Cast your nets on the right side.’ Jesus said.
They did and found it difficult to pull the nets in.
When the disciples came to shore they saw a fire made with coal and fish on it as well as bread, then Jesus said ‘ bring some of the fish you have caught. Come let us dine.’
A loving Jesus credits them with the catch and invites them to eat. A meal of food in the right surroundings. Matthew 21:12 is the verse where Jesus says ‘Come and dine!’ The whole chapter is a good read.
A nice place to be is often a good place to eat. Here in the Algarve are three places that come to mind.
The first was up a narrow street,a place filled with colour and pattern. Some tables with mosaic tops others shiny wood, those outside iron. The plates each a different pattern and a small shop outside where you could buy the ones you liked. I had salmon and simply prepared vegetables. There was no need for a dessert as the meal was satisfying.
The second place made us all speak softly and tuck our elbows in. Why? I spoke to the waitress and this is what she said: ‘ He is passionate about antiques and has bought them from many places in Portugal.’
Then I thought …’ and has found a courageous way to share them with all of us’…
The sides of the restaurant were filled with shiny wooden cabinets carrying bright glass in many colours and shapes. So much to look at. The menu provided vegetable soup which I was happy to have, the other dishes were meat and fish. The soup was good Portuguese soup a meal in itself.
The third ‘ nice place to be’ was in a homely fishing village street. The colours were earthy with straight backed wooden chairs. ‘Sit up straight when you eat!’ I heard my Father say.
Friendly service and an easy place to talk. A slice of quiche some salad and an enormous slice of lemon meringue to share. Yes, carrot, ginger and orange juice freshly squeezed if that is your preference.
Three very different nice places to be. These places are so important for our social well being.
Thank you to those who make them special.

‘People are the core of every business. Businesses are based on relationships, and relationships are based on people. I would go to an average restaurant run by amazing people over an outstanding restaurant run by awful people.’

‘ A cannibal is a person who walks into a restaurant and orders a waiter.’

Ps
A definition for nice: First giving pleasure or satisfaction; pleasant or attractive. Second, subtle or slight especially of difference.
I can see all that beautiful colours you describe so well👏 The lemon meringue looks attractive and I am sure it gave you both satisfaction 😀
Thank you, our friend. It was good but one portion between two was the right amount of sweetness.🤗
