‘ There is one spectacle grander than the sea, that is the sky; there is one spectacle grander than the sky, that is the interior of the soul.’ Victor Hugo
‘ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him … in Him was life and the life was the light of people.’ John speaking at the beginning of his book. John 1: 1-4)

Which is easy to say
Earth, Sea and Sky
Sky, Sea and Earth
Which would you or could you leave out?
There is a verse where one is left out.
‘ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and first earth were passed away and there was no more sea.’ Revelations 21:1
So will it be earth and sky or sky and earth?
Sky holding up water, the upper waters Hebrew raqla.
Earth dry land and sand.
Sea the gathered oceans.
God’s order out of chaos.
A separation of these vast domains.

‘ For in six days the LORD, made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested on the seventh day and blessed and hallowed it.’ Exodus 20: 11

Did Jesus talk about creation?
Jesus speaking: ‘ Haven’t you read, that He who made them in the beginning made them male and female, and said for this reason a man must leave his father and mother, and be one with his wife, … become one flesh and when God joins them no one must destroy this.’ Matthew 19: 4,5,6 ( Sandy’s understanding.)
Jesus again speaking in a prayer to God: ‘ … for You have loved me before the foundation of the world… John 17 : 24 ( a whole prayer by Jesus full of love for God and us.)
This post travelled with my painting and three photographs taken with the exact same time on each. The colours, the different sands, sea and sky drew me to them with no measured time between them but different. I then looked at creation from the Bible and if Jesus spoke of it. My faith is what it is. My concern is not in proof but a better understanding of our living God.
I was blessed doing this.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
A beautiful post and painting Sandy x
Thank you. It is far from blue and golden now. The sea is green, the sky is angry- grey, and the wind is slamming the sea onto the sand. A real storm. Nice to get your kind words.
Love your painting and your thoughts. Stay blessed 🙏
Ah, thank you so much Morag. We are in a storm here in the Algarve at the moment. All will be fine but just a lot of wind.
I’m glad you are safe. Storms can be super dramatic. 🤗💟
Bugzy seems OK. It has had a few!
Another beautiful post–a work of art! Thanks, Sandy!
Ah, thank you, Karen. One I very much enjoyed doing.
