I will first look at three scriptures one from the New Testament and two from the Old Testament.
Paul speaks first writing to the believers living in Rome this is what he wants them to know:
‘ I am persuaded (and here is my list) that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities/governments, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any thing or creature will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus.’ Romans 8:38
Then Joshua speaks to his people in his old age after all they have gone through: ‘ Therefore take careful heed of yourself (watch your own life choices to avoid falling into sin or spiritual compromise) that you love the Lord your God.’ Joshua 23:11
And Isaiah says in God’s voice:
‘ In returning and rest you will be saved; in quietness and in confidence you will have strength. ‘ Isaiah 30: 15
Now for a different way of looking. Looking down and far away in late afternoon and then walking in the late morning the next day at what we saw the day before. I will do this post mostly in photographs.

Near where we are standing is a fenced off area. What is beyond the fence?

As close as I dare get to the fence looking down to the sea through a sink hole where birds have made their nests in the walls.

We are standing on land belonging to the cliffs warmed by the sun and navigated by the sea.

Then looking into the distance is Portimão.
Now let us spend time lower down and in that distance. It is not late afternoon but late morning early afternoon as we walk quite a way.

A young child has taken their first steps and now is tired and chooses to crawl again.

A road curls round the stacks and the sea swirls round other stacks in the next photigraph…

while barriers seem ever closer to the edge and stairs wind down…

…to sun filled, reflective places of quiet golden sands and where powerful waters of current and tide have rhythmic sound.
There are several beaches we go on to: Praia da Rocha backed by ochre cliffs, Praia dos Careanos, Praia des Três Castelos and Praia do Amado. Those are the ones we walked that day.
My post last year in this place ends with beach art, there was none this time, but we had the sun and not the rain.
I hope you enjoy being in the Algarve through our posts. Yesterday was sunny today is grey.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
