Religion
Let us travel a while from the New Testament back to the Old Testament Bible:
Jesus speaking: ‘ Abide( rest with stability and confidence) in Me.’
John 15:4
Then, ‘ Come to me and I will give you rest.’
Matthew 11:28
David speaking: ‘Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.’
Psalm 37:7
And Isaiah 30:15 reassures us: ‘ In quietness and confidence will be your strength.’
But then there is work to do.
Jesus speaking: ‘ Take my yoke upon you:… and you will have rest.’ What is this yoke? Obedience? Humility? Dependence on Him? Always questions.
Travel
We travelled some more from Seville to Ronda a distance of 128km / 80 miles. Ronda is a municipality belonging to the province of Málaga within the autonomous community of Andalusia. This post has tile art and pebble mosaics a dwarf pomegranate and some facts.
We will start with the facts. The city is 750m above sea level and is dramatically split into two by the El Tajo gorge, a deep canyon carved by the Guadalevin river and crossed by an iconic bridge the Puente Nuevo, built in the 18th Century.

Press on the photograph to experience the georaphy of this town with its surrounding hilly and mountainous areas. These are all part of the Sierra de las Nieves National Park.

Dappled shade fallen leaves the temporary, changing part of scenes. Weather, seasons and time of day. Then there are the stones that make the semi permanent picture. What of them? They are holding well till weather wins and ground shifts and the picture or pattern is also gone. But it is all lovely for now!

Plane tree leaves golden brown. Ronda has yellow and rich browns in pockets of colour every where.

Situated in the Alameda del Tajo park, directly across from the statue of the famous bullfighter Pedro Romero is the statue of Dama Goyesca inaugurated in 2009 as a tribute to the women who embody grace and wear traditional Goya – inspired costumes. Press on the photograph to see the detail of her clothes.
The last of the photographs is of what I think is Punic granatum, Dwarf Pomegranite. I found out that it grows to four foot but its minature pomegranate fruits are only ornamental.

Here it is in the Ronda Museum garden with fruit. I am also pleased to see how well the box hedging is doing here in Spain. Patience is rewarded!
Ronda was 11 degrees but warm in the sun.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
