The cornflowers in the field

A statement by Paul:

‘ Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.’

Hebrews 13:8 ( The whole chapter gives context.)

This year 2025, wildflower seeds were scattered in an area around the newly planted oak trees.

Amongst them and now most prominent is the beauty and calming effect of cornflower blue.

The perennial ( Centaurea cyanus) and the annual ( Centaurea montana). I wonder which was planted.

Cornflower close up.
Each petal with four ‘fingers.’
One seed pod is open, another closed.
I must watch for seeds.
White Yarrow, daisies, a red poppy, and a little yellow, too.
Not to forget an earthy brown of seed heads and green threaded threw.
These in the foreground of ancient oaks…
Popeswood under grey skies making the blue of the cornflowers even more positive and expectant.
The grass was mowed and the metal fences kept the roots safe.

A memory of time in the field October 2025.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
