Forgiveness and a Delphinium flower

So is it easier to forgive or paint?

When they got to Calvary they crucified Him.

Jesus speaking: ‘ Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.’

Later Stephen is stoned to death in front of Saul who was looking after the coats of the priests ( Pharisees) who were throwing the stones. (This was Saul who later became Paul.)

Stephen speaks  in prayer to God as he dies: ‘ Lord do not lay this sin to their charge.’ And when he had said this he fell asleep.

Sometimes it is easier to distract the mind. So here is how I saw a delphinium flower. Tinged with pink and green on white. A time of escape to beauty. And here are a few facts:

The Delphinium comes from the Ancient Greek word delphinium which means dolphin.

Each flower of most species has five spreading sepals and four petals.

I painted how I saw I didn’t count the petals.

Each of my paintings has a thought from another person about forgiveness.

‘ To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.’

Lewis B. Smedes

When you forgive you don’t change the past- but you sure change the future.

Bernard Meltzer

‘Forgive my nonsense, as I also forgive the nonsense of those that think they talk sense.’

Robert Frost

Part of a raceme of many flowers. The £2 for 4 bunches of flowers.

‘There is no revenge so complete as forgiveness.’

Josh Billings.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
