Calendulas: A vase of change.

Here is James speaking

Every good gift
Every perfect gift
Is
From above
and
Comes from the Father of lights
He does not change.
James 1:17
Calendulas.
From seed to blossoming in 6-8 weeks.
I cleared up the table and these five were left.
A bud and four stalks in seed.

Change is the law of life.

Change: an act or process through which something becomes different.

‘When you blame others you give up your power to change.’

Robert Anthony

And

‘ It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining in an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.’

C.S. Lewis

I watched/ attended an AI conference with our son where one of the presenters established her dislike for AI standing for the 1956 meaning of Artificial Intelligence. She put forward the above.
A more sympathetic inclusion of AI.

‘The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it… ‘Alan Watts

It is with this in mind that I will always seriously consider something written by Solomon in the early part of his reign when He was still obedient to the Spirit of God within His heart.

‘ Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and don’t lean towards your understanding. In all your decisions on living acknowledge God, He can direct your paths in this way.

Don’t be wise in your own eyes!

Fear the LORD.

Depart from evil!

This will make you healthy in your stomach and the blood made in the marrow of your bones will be good.’

Proverbs 3: 5 – 8 ( Sandy’s summary. )

Job then speaks about the ultimate two changes: birth and death.

‘ Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return to the ground, the LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.’ Job 1: 21( Sandy’s wording.)

So where once the tulips bloomed, in the metal cupboard the Calendulas bloom and go to seed. I wasn’t here to keep on picking them. I will deadhead them soon.

Calendula and red gladiolus in the garden metal cupboard.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
