Braunau am Inn and Simbach am Inn.

Here is a big thought in a few words :

‘ Faith is simple in its operation and powerful in its results… childlike trust is essential to the religion of Jesus. ‘ EG White.

How wonderful is this: ‘ For because of Adam and Eve’s (man’s) sin many were made sinners, so by the obedience of Jesus many who choose Him are made righteous.’ Romans 5:19 (Sandy’s wording. It is an interesting chapter.)

This post is a ‘this side and the other side’ type of post. We parked Bugzy at Simbach on the German side of the river Inn and then spent some time in Braunau am Inn and our  Sabbath at Bogenhofen, on the Austrian side of the river.

Both sides of the wide river Inn were pleasant. Our park up had access to a swimming pool, a Greek restaurant, good cycling paths and quiet roads with corn planted and shady trees. This was at Simbach.

It was Braunau where the colourful buildings and interesting statue made one stay a while. Let us look at this side of the River Inn.

Why a fish with a naked man riding it?

Three facts from Braunau:

The giant imposing fish with a man symbolises the personification of the Inn River, which marks the border between Germany and Austria.

The church of Saint Steven has a tower of 87m, which is one of the tallest in Austria.

The historic birthplace now changed to a police station is where Adolf Hitler was born.

Our church in Bogenhofen on the Austrian side is large and welcoming. There was a Bible study group that was in English so we joined in with that one comfortably.  I take an interest in flowers so it was these imaginatively arranged ones that I took a picture of. These same flowers I saw growing in gardens as we cycled through small groups of houses to the path that stretched along the River Inn.

A pleasant use of local plants inside our Bogenhofen College church.
The cycle path by the River Inn had a link path close to our College a convenient place for students to cycle.
This is part of a continuous path along the River Inn..

It was very warm on the banks of the River Inn but look at the rain we came through from Lienz.

A moody wet road which made for captures of clouds moving through and around mountains.
A good journey.

I looked at some quotes with the words ‘ by your side‘.

Here is a sweet one by Celine Dion:

‘ Even though there may be times it seems I’m far away never wonder where I am ’cause I am always by your side.’

Then one more:

‘ Making a hundred friends is not a miracle. The miracle is to make a single friend who will stand by your side even when hundreds are against you.’ John Spence

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
