From Edola to Caldes

Here is something said by Paul:

‘ For I know that this will turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.’

Philipians 1:19

Intercessory prayer, this interested me.

Between Edola and Caldes
There are rides for the large motorbikes
They curl up and creep up behind Bugzy like fierce vibrating insects
Pass by as they accelerate into a corner and rev, rev to keep momentum.
I watch through the wing mirror
They come in threes and fives.
Mostly our age group when with helmets off they sit where we sit for a rest and drink!
Tonale Pass was the one for the experience on this day across the Rhaetian Alps between Trentino and Lombardy.
' It is delimited by the Ortler Alps to the north and the Ademello range to the South.'
A perfect day for a ride!
A view from Bugzy taken across the driver from the passenger seat.
A feeling of higher to go to a true mountain pass.
Then coming down to some valleys where the landscape is lined in a neat patchwork of apple tree rows.
We also see a torrent.
The torrent Noce:
Noce rises at 2670m at the roof of the Carno dei Tre Signor inside the Stelvio National Park.
In the far distance before the town of Caldes the neat apple tree rows and in the foreground the torrent Noce.
It is 6 in the morning.

Let us look more closely.

Green apples cling to conveniently low growing branches
Wind falls are scattered on the ground.
How many trees will ever grow from those well covered seeds?
Possibly none!
And these bolders that cause the roar of the day will they still be in place this time next year?

Probably some or none or all!

It depends.

The melt, the use of the torrent etc

Will the photograph be the same next year?

Possibly. Will I be here to see it? This has been our moment.

A beautiful time, parked in Tren Wild Teno.

Three thoughts about apples:

‘ Millions saw the apples fall but Newton was the one who asked why.’

Bernard Baruch

‘ If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.’

Carl Sagan

‘ Time ripens the substance of a life as the seasons mellow and perfect it’s fruits. The  best apples fall latest and keep longest.’

Amos Bronson Alcott.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂

Ps

I spent some time listening to this How to pray for others. It is by Mark Finley, someone I find easy to listen to.
