Lake Como to Edola Italy

David speaking about God: ‘For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will He keep back from those who behave in a moral, honest, and ethical way. Oh, LORD of many, happy are people who trust you.’ Psalm 84: 11,12

Psalm 84:11

I got tired but we travelled on so I guess this is looking back at a town where its bridges are so important and the passes that link it to the world are carefully built and maintained. Look at three photographs taken on the road  and then three taken during an evening cycle ride through the town ending at 20:50.

Mountain homes are built on the rock and accessible by a road. 15:43
The hangover from Bugzy to the right, a river going under the road and mountains ahead. 16:57
Mountains, homes, and the road were well-kept. 17:01.

‘ Bridges represent archetypal problems. They are artefacts that bring you across or around an obstacle. So they have an unbelievable force.’

Santiago Colatrava (Spanish Swiss architect, structural engineer, sculptor and painter.)

Let us look particularly at the bridges in these four photographs of Edola in the evening.

Taken from a footbridge at 20:34. The bridge is much like the cycle track to the right.
From the side of a main car bridge. 20:47
A covered bridge is in the distance it didn’t make the third bridge in this photograph but there was one.
20:50

Here are some thoughts about feeling tired.

‘ Life is one long process of getting tired.’

Samuel Butler

‘ It’s so important to realise that every time you get upset, it drains your emotional energy. Losing your cool makes you tired. Getting angry a lot messes with your health.’

Joyce Meyer

‘Tired minds don’t plan well. Sleep first, plan later.’

Walter Reisch

The next morning we woke up in a vast car park the road-building machines had arrived.

Happy to be in the mountains after a cool evening and a peaceful night of uninterrupted sleep.

I leave you with a thought by Salvador Dali ‘ I seated ugliness on my knee, and almost immediately grew tired of it.’

Take care,

Sandy 🙂

  1. Sorry you’re feeling tired. Hope you’ll be your chirpy self soon. “sleep first plan later.” I like that. Save us a lot of trouble…
