Lake Orta

Paul speaking: ‘ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to pulling down strongholds. Casting down imaginations, and even high things that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought in the obedience of Christ.’

2 Corinthians 10: 4,5

And Buddha: ‘ It is man’s mind/( the mind of people), not his/ ( their) enemy or foe, that lures him ( them ) to evil ways.’

This post links with Four ‘impressionsfrom travel’. We saw things differently from Lake Orta sitting in a boat taxi.

The water, the church Santuario della Madonna del Sasso perched above the quarried cliff face seemed even higher up and the only island Isola San Giulio more substantial.

The water!

From an island restaurant,
you have the church,
the town below
and a couple.
Since 1976 the island’s main building has been a Benedictine monastery. Most of the houses are holiday houses or second homes.

There were quote boards like the one above. One read ‘Simply be yourself. ‘ The strip road of stone is part of the ‘ lane of silence.’ It was cool, quiet and favoured thought.

Apart from the boat taxi we didn’t cycle except for into the town of Omgna from a park up next to Lake Orta.

A pleasant quiet lake for June.

The Piedmont region bordering France and Switzerland at the foot of the Alps has been a pleasure for the small amount we have seen. I have particularly enjoyed looking at the water. Lakes and rivers.

Here is my enjoyment of a river from the Waldensian area.

I wasn’t so bothered by the variety of shapes in leaves and shades of green. The mountains were blue and far away that day.
I wanted the water to look like it was moving.

Here is a short video of this river higher up.

Take care,

A river running near Bobbie Pellice.

Take care if you are in Europe and I believe parts of America as it is very hot.

Sandy 🙂
