Veynes part 2

Jesus speaking: ‘ Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you… Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid. ‘ John 14: 27

Dog roses in the foreground,
grass all mowed and drying golden in the sun soon to be turned and brought in for winter.
A village and the mountains far behind.

We cycled into the village a friendly woman smiled and greeted us as we stood at a small intersection. Which was the centre the left or the right?

‘ The heart is to the right.’ She said. ‘The shops are to the left.’ We went to the right.

Change of heart, heart of gold, to take heart, know your heart of heart, from the bottom of my heart… funny how sayings go through your mind when a word is said that you didn’t expect.

‘The castle is the heart.’ She continued.

‘Thank you !’ we said.

A man sat eating a croissant with sips of coffee, facing the street and castle. A casement window was open and then silence. No one else.

There was an arch way into narrow roads and tall houses.  This silent heart.

Come let’s look at it.

The cycle paths are excellent and much appreciated. This was from the lake to the village.

…and cycle on we did.

‘ Those who learn must suffer and even in our sleep pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awe-filled grace of God.’

Aeschylus

‘ I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process.’

Vincent Van Gogh

‘ Time and memory are true artists; they remould reality nearer to the heart’s desire.’

John Dewey

Thank you for looking at this post. We will travel on and you are welcome to spend a while with us.
