The Jesus who was not shy, turned over the tables and benches of those who were selling in the temple and said: ‘ It is written, My house is called the house of prayer, but you made it a place for thieves to do their thing.’ Matthew 21 : 13 ( Sandy’s wording but read it, here is a different Jesus.)

The Vercors, the Chartreuse, and Belledonna.
They say on a good day you can see Mount Blanc, too.
We are looking down on the city after a short journey of minutes in ‘ the bubbles’, Les Bulles.
The Bastille is a small hill and with its fortifications and underground tunnels. A place from which to ask questions.
My first was why are the streets so long and straight?
The Romans were here and they placed the grid with straight roads. It has proved to be the most efficient way to cross the valley and connect with the vast plains of the Duran Valley. Saudi Arabia’ s Highway 10 is 240km straight section is the longest in the world.
How many trees are there?
The answer is intriguing this city is the first in France to plant trees instead of having commercial street advertising. They are also encouraging community self expression instead of competitive advertising boards. Extensive tree planting started in 2014 with10,000 trees already planted.

Look at the birds’ eyes and the reflection of the cycleway , mountain
and tree.
A large river, the Isère, can also be seen with the Drac flowing into it, it will eventually join the Rhône River.
Grenoble with two rivers and bridges, trams, well connecting roads, and cycleways to be proud of makes for people on the move, in a green and pleasant way.
The people of the town were busy buying and selling at their Sunday Street markets. Drawing in the curious with books, furniture, clothes and bric-a-brac all along one side of the river bank. Competitive and not losing were the restaurants. The smell of coffee and the sight of pretty cakes served made for a sunny togetherness.
Let’s look into the city.

A beautiful place today.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
