The poppy in the garden

A  question: ‘ Why do you say Sabbath walks, Sandy?’

If you are new to my posts, here is my answer. We worship on Saturday, which means we go to Sabbath School ( where we study the Bible) and  church where there is singing and a sermon. Some of us then walk together in the afternoon, and that is where I find so much about the current season to photograph.

Remembering is an important part of knowing God. Saying that He is your Creator makes you strong in your thoughts about who you are. Loved and accepted is a good place to be.

A ‘remember’ in the ten commandments is in this context:

‘ Remember the Sabbath day,  to keep it holy. Six days are for all your work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God… For in six days, the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them… and blessed and hallowed this Sabbath day.’ ( Sandy’s shortened form, but read it for yourself Exodus 20: 8-11 there is quite a lot of detail.)

A poppy is often associated with memory, so this morning, by keeping an eye on an opening poppy, I worked and remembered.

Here are some things said about memory:

‘ The heart’s memory eliminates the bad and magnifies the good’

‘ When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.’

‘ Collect beautiful moments and let them tell the story of your life.’

And so the poppy opened while I pulled out grass with sticky grass, nettles, and ivy.

At 8:35 a.m., it looked odd with two sepals purched on top.

Then only one was left by 10:05am

11:44 a.m.  there it was in its new world, the garden, all the casing and protection gone.

It’s perfectly lovely to paint.

So I did!

Sandy’s view of the new.

It is sunny here.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
