Acer and Mexican Orange Blossom in April 2025

At the birth of Jesus, the angels announced: ‘ Peace on earth, and good will to men.’ Then at His first appearance to a group after the resurrection Jesus words were:

‘Peace be unto you.’

Jesus wants those with doubts and fears to open their minds to Him.

Jesus speaking : ‘ Behold I stand at the door, and knock if anyone hears, and opens the door, I will come in and will eat with them, and them with me.’

Revelations 3:20

Here is a quote by Yotam Ottolenghi: ‘ Food can bring people together in a way nothing else could. ‘

Let us look at two plants that are together in the garden.

This post is a twin of Mexican orange and Acer in October. These are my records of these two plants at different times of the year.

Come into the garden and look next to the pond near the low wall, see a Mexican Orange shrub, and close beside it an Acer. It is now planted in the ground so that it can grow well when we travel. The lime green leaves are palm shaped and have seven fingers. This almost fluorescent colour looks good with the deep green leaves and white  bowl shaped blossom of the Mexican Orange.

These spring colours of the plants are pleasant together, so I painted them just as I did in October.

Both plants in spring foliage.

A different painting from the one before with all its autumn colours.

Two plants together through the year. The Mexican Orange may not bloom in October as it did last year, as there is no need to cut this neat plant back.

Here are a few thoughts about together:

‘ Society cannot exist without law. Law is the bond of society: that which makes it, that which preserves it and keeps it together. It is infact the essence of civil society.’ Joseph P Bradley

‘ People who are truly strong lift others up. People who are truly powerful bring others together.’ Michelle Obama

And a thought in a different direction:

‘ Sleep is that golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.’ Thomas Dekker

How practical is that! Says Sandy.

Spring colours for the Acer
and
the usual white for the Mexican Orange.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
