This was a circular walk of about four and a half miles on paths near Tilford Surrey. It took in forests, sandy paths through a golf course, and large areas of heather and gorse.

The yellow gorse and the heather dried to crisp grey brown.

Now for something I thought about from my last post about Peter accepting a call out of the blue from Jesus.
Religion
Peter, the fisherman, wrote surprisingly very well in Greek.
How?
1 Peter 5:12 mentions that he had a scribe with excellent Greek, Silvanus. (His AI).
Peter was a thinker and asked these questions: ( 1 Peter 1: 10-12)
What would the prophets who told of Christ’s birth and death think of the salvation he, Peter, was preaching?
And what about the angels? What did they think?
Isaiah did his work during the height of Assyrian supremacy, and as Peter puts it, he ( Isaiah) spoke with the Spirit of Christ in him.
Well,what did he say?
Isaiah speaking: ‘ He ( Jesus) will grow up before us as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground:
He has no form
He has no splendour or beauty that would make us want him.
He is despised.
He is rejected.
A man who knows grief.
And
He was wounded, bruised, and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. ( He was punished instead of us.)
The prophecy of Isaiah goes on.
How will this happen?
This is the order:
Prison
Judgement
Killed with the wicked
His grave with the rich
His spoil/ clothes divided by the strong.
Isaiah 53 tells it clearly this is Sandy’s summary.
Then Matthew 27, 28, tells how this all happened about 700 years later .
It all takes faith. Faith that Jesus came and carried your sins on the cross and will come again.
Peter : ‘ Your faith tried is much more precious than gold because it is this that will help you praise and honour and glory the appearing of Jesus Christ, who you haven’t seen yet you love and believe…’
I enjoyed reading this in the Old Testament and New Testament. I hope you have a pleasant weekend as ours has started out.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
