A Beswick jug of vegetation

I am so pleased with my find. A  turquoise 1930s Beswick Art Deco Jug made in Stoke on Trent. It was under £20. The vegetation in the jug from our garden is:

one hyacinth, three clusters of helleborus foetidus/stinking hellebore and  tortured willow twigs.

Taken at 7:18 am.

The hyacinth in the jug is from a number that has come back naturally this year. Hyacinth is a perennial, but with all the rain, I wondered if they had rotted.

Early morning sunshine. 7:21 am

The other flower is stinking Hellebore, which has been in different numbers in the garden over the years, and this year, I seem to have one plant. They grow to about 31 inches, and their flowers  have cup-shaped , yellowish- green sepals often with a purple edge.

The purple edge of Helleborus foetidus.
An outline on soft green.
7:32 am sunshine.
It is now cloudy and grey.

Here is a quote with the word perennial:

” Pleasure is a shadow, wealth a vanity, and power a pageant; but knowledge is ecstatic in enjoyment, perennial in frame, unlimited in space and indefinite in duration.”

De Witt Clinton

I have been thinking about how God talks to us in 2025, so this is what I have been reading.

Religion

The fruit of the Spirit is:

love

joy

peace

longsuffering

gentleness

goodness

faith

meekness

temperance

against such, there is no law.

I then asked AI this question:

How does the Holy Spirit speak?

Through Scripture The Holy Spirit inspired the words of the Bible, and He illuminates the meaning of these words to our hearts and minds as we read, pray over, and think about them. The Holy Spirit will never communicate something to our hearts that conflicts with what He has inspired in the Bible.’

AI continues, and it is interesting, but I will leave that and listen to Paul speaking: ‘ The Spirit helps our infirmities because we do not know what to pray  rightly, but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searches the hearts knows what is in the mind of the Spirit because he makes intercession for us according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.’Romans 8: 26-27 ( Not in my words)

I’m pleased I got up, went into the garden, and saw the sun.

Take  care,

Sandy 🙂
